World Cup News

ITF England would like to congratulate Mr. Philip Lear on his successful bid for Vision TKD to host the World Cup in Brighton in 2012. Unfortunately Brazil, who had initially bid for and won the 2012 hosting have had to pull out. We wish Mr. Lear every success and look forward to an exciting competition.

ITF England - 2010 AGM PDF Print E-mail

The ITF England AGM was held on Saturday 27th November 2010 and followed a Heads of Associations meeting held that morning. The severe bad weather experienced by some parts of the country meant that the delegates from TAE were unable to attend in person but Mr. Paul Cook (TAE Chairman) was able to take part via Skype.

One of the key priorities of the AGM was to elect a new Board for ITF England. Nominations were taken by Mr. Graham Patterson as one of his last duties as the outgoing secretary. The following members were elected to serve on the ITF England Board for the next two year term:

President – Mr. Donato Nardizzi

Secretary – Mrs. Patricia Gray

Treasurer – Mr. Ken Chesterman

Technical Director – Mr. Philip Lear

Umpire Chairman – Mr. Nick Symonds

All four of the Associations within ITF England are now represented on the ITF England Board.

Other business at the AGM included a request of support by Mr. Lear for Vision TKD to host the next World Cup in 2012 in Brighton. Unfortunately Brazil, who had initially bid for and won the 2012 hosting, have had to pull out. All associations offered their support for Mr Lear's bid.

At the Heads of Associations meeting, some possible changes to the direction of ITF England were discussed. The aim was to encourage the associations to work more cooperatively and at the same time maintain their independence. The new ITF England Board will be looking at the points discussed at the Heads of Associations meeting and put some proposals forward in the near future.
